Recently, there have been a couple of news stories in our world that have fit awkwardly in the Tedium format. For one, the whole deal with Commodore, which had a lot of small updates that I couldn’t regularly throw into posts without making the entire site about Commodore. For another, the whole thing with AOL dropping dial-up, which should have hit this site as an immediate piece, but took a few days to hit the site because it’s kind of tough to post short things in our format. Simply put, we needed a way to cover pieces that didn’t neatly fit our newsletter format.

So, we’re going to start posting more shorter items on Tedium. These will not hit the email feed, but may be linked in the feed itself. The goal is to convey information, not share massive 2,000-word missives every time we want to post something. These will be worked in throughout the week, where it makes sense. They will not have sponsorships (unless, hey, you want to, if so reach out). The goal is to present useful information relevant to our mission of covering tedious things, quickly. Maybe it’s a fun video that doesn’t deserve a long wait. Maybe it’s breaking news.

(On the quick-hit news standpoint: Can we all agree that MS NOW is a stupid rebrand for MSNBC? Why even hold onto the MS at this point?)

But the goal is to keep it short. I hope you find this helpful. (And for our RSS readers, enjoy hearing from us more.)
